The goal of the “Rookie League” is for 8 year old (2nd Grade) baseball players (1st graders may register and could be in the league if there is room) who want to develop their baseball skills through practice using the Trojan baseball techniques, learn baseball rules, play real games so they can transition into competitive traveling baseball. 

Here are the highlights of the program

• 8 week program
• 2 times a week on Thursday (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) and Saturday (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) at Memorial Softball fields 1 and 2
• First 2 weeks practice both days than games on Thursday and Practices on Saturday
• Limited to 48 players making up 4 teams
• Played in New Prague only
• In house tournament at the end of the season (July 13th)
• Games: Coach pitch, Kids catching (equipment provided).
• Cost $50 includes Camo T shirt and Hat

If your son wants to be involved in a learning the New Prague Trojan way of playing baseball but competitive environment to help transition into traveling baseball (games in metro area), the Rookie league is the right fit for your son.

Many hands make light work, if your son is signed up for Rookie League and you are interested please sign up to help coach.  We need 4 head coaches, 1 - 2 League Managers, and as many assistance coaches as we can get.

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Registration Close - May 1
• Coaches & Parents Meeting - May 11
• First Practice - May 16
• Jamboree - TBD
