Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA)

On Monday, March 12 at 7:00 we will be having a mandatory workshop for all coaches working with our youth. This workshop is open to team managers and parents.  The workshop is entitled "Double-Goal Coach: Positive Motivation" and it is put on by Positive Coaching Alliance.  The PCA has a strong reputation locally as well as nationally.  They work hand-in-hand with many organizations throughout our area in helping teach our athletes to have a positive, character-building youth sports experience.  This workshop is required.

NOTE: This is a different training session then last year, which was "Winning/Life Lessons".

This years workshop: Double-Goal Coach: Culture, Practices, and Games further illustrates how coaches use PCA principles to build a team culture that players and their parents buy into, thus leading to life lessons and improved athletic performance in practices and games.

Concussion Training Certificate

All coaches, assistants, and managers must complete a concussion certificate.

CDC Concussion Module:   CDC Heads Up Concussion Modules and Certification

For coaches selected, concussion training certification must be completed.  Concussion Certifications are valid for three years from the date of completely the training.  You are required to have a valid Concussion Certificate for the entire season.  The head coach is required to have valid Concussion Certificates for all coaches with him at all games.

It's the head coach (or someone the head coach selects) to have valid Concussion Certificate for each adult in the dugout for each game. The NPYBA does not retain this documentation.
